Broadwater Parklands

Broadwater Parklands is a world-class community and cultural parkland, loved by Gold Coast residents and tourists alike.

At the heart of the parklands is a vast expanse of green that is ideal for family picnics and fun. The Great Lawn hosts some of the city's most popular events such as the Gold Coast Marathon, Mayor's Christmas Carols and Monster Machinery Day.

Southport Sharks

Hosting one million visitors annually, Southport Sharks is one of the largest clubs in Queensland and one of the Gold Coast’s leading clubs with over 55,000 members.

Our facility offers a multi-purpose events centre, two restaurants, a cafe, five bars, two AFL grade ovals, sports facilities, modern 24/7 fitness centre, kids club, gaming facilities and free weekly entertainment, plus a 120-room hotel.

Southport Sharks has a strong commitment to the local community and while we are a not-for-profit community club, we have a commercial focus. Sharks understands that the harder we work, the more the community benefits – from our football team, to our front line team members, we know that results count both on and off the field. Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus

Located just minutes from the Gold Coast’s world-famous beaches, the campus offers a dynamic and exciting student lifestyle, with extensive sporting amenities, handy on-campus services and a range of cafes and restaurants.

The campus has seen significant growth and development with the opening of the $150 million Griffith Health Centre in 2013 and the launch of the $38 million Griffith Business School building in 2014

Southport Park Shopping Centre

Southport Park Shopping Centre is situated on the Gold Coast within one of the fastest growing regions of Australia. Southport Park Shopping Centre was built in 1984 and redeveloped in 1990 adding an additional twelve retailers and extended in 2006 to accommodate the Aldi Supermarket.

Southport Park offers customers a wide variety of retailers, tailored to meet individual consumer needs including anchor majors Aldi, Target, Woolworths and Woolworths Petrol Station plus over 50 specialty stores. With a vibrant retailer mix of everything from health services to fashion, beauty to fresh food and cafes and food outlets, there is plenty to keep you energised for a full day of shopping.

The centre is supported by ample parking and is serviced daily by local bus, train and taxi connections. So getting to Southport Park is easy!

The Rockpools

This is an exciting, sculptural water playground. The water play area is designed with cool water fountains and vibrant marine-themed equipment. It includes a creek bed and several tidal rockpools for children to splash, dam and explore.

Southport State School

Southport State High School is a secondary school situated in Southport on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia.

Southport State High School was the first public high school on the Gold Coast, celebrating its 100th centenary in 2016.[2][3] 'Respice Finem' remains the school motto to this day, meaning 'look to the end result'.[4] Some of the Southport State High School Buildings are listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.[5]

Gold Coast Private Hospital

The Gold Coast Private Hospital is a private hospital facility in Southport, Gold Coast that replaced Allamanda Private Hospital from 12 March 2016. The $230 million facility opened with 284 beds and 13 operating theatres with capacity to expand to 400 beds and 21 theatres, in line with demand.[1]

The Emergency Care Centre is open 24/7 and is headed by Dr Anthony Padowitz The hospital is co-located with the Gold Coast University Hospital and Griffith University and is a key partner in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.[1]
